Minden’s 12-year old all-star group defeated Tiny Farms of New Orleans 5-1 Monday evening hours to remain atop the winner’s bracket in State Tournament play.
With the win, Minden stays unbeaten in all-star play while they await a challenger from the bracket’s bottom 1 / 2.
Monday night, the Minden 12u boys cranked out eight hits and also 11 total bases on the way to the victory. The game appeared to be tied at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning.
That’s anytime Minden struck for two runs, accompanied by two more in the bottom within the fifth to claim victory.
Hayden Harmon directed the offense with an RBI triple, followed by Brandon Winston with a 2-RBI single. Price tag Miller had two single people and a RBI, Bryce Powell had an RBI single and Cooper Chase cranked the double. Maddox Mandino added a single and run scored to complete the offense.
Chase started on the actual mound and struck away five before giving approach to Mandino who struck out five in relief.
